Shafqah: Middle School

Shafqah, the first level of the Tarbiyah Seminary, provides a supportive setting for middle school students who are interested in exploring Islam more deeply. 

Given the Arabic word "Shafqah" translates to compassion or care, we focus on guiding students through this pivotal age with empathy, tying their personal growth to the foundational teachings of this beautiful religion of Islam.

Textbook: Imām Nawawī, "40 Hadith of Nawawī" 
Course Description: In this class, students will attain a profound understanding of essential Islamic teachings encapsulated in these hadiths, with a specific focus on ethics, faith, and jurisprudence. Through an exploration of these foundational narratives, the course aims to foster a richer comprehension of Islamic values, empowering students to incorporate these principles into their daily lives with authenticity and conviction.

99 names of Allāh

Textbook: Imām al-Ghazālī, "The 99 Beautiful Names of Allāh" 
Course Description: In this course, we embark on a systematic exploration of each Divine Name, delving into its profound meaning and its application in understanding the attributes of Allāh. Through an in-depth analysis of the spiritual and literary richness of these ghazals, students will develop a comprehensive comprehension of Allāh's attributes, enabling them to deepen their connection and understanding of the Divine.

Arabic Level B:

Textbook: Bashir, Dr. Aamir, "Ten Lessons of Arabic" based on Das Sabaq of Mawlānā ʿAbd al-Salām Kidwai Nadwī
Course Description: Students will engage in sentence construction, both from English to Arabic and from Arabic to English, to reinforce their understanding of fundamental Arabic rules of etymology and morphology. Through practical exercises, they will enhance their knowledge and mastery of the language, gaining confidence in expressing themselves accurately and fluently in both written and spoken contexts.
