Course Description: This course offers a bird's-eye view of the Sīrah, focusing specifically on addressing orientalist objections. Students will embark on a study of the Sīrah, gaining a profound understanding of the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ within an authentic Islamic context. The curriculum responds critically to orientalist perspectives, nurturing the ability to engage in informed dialogue about the Sīrah. Unlike conventional approaches, this course's academic orientation enriches the understanding of the Prophet's ﷺ life, empowering students to appreciate its timeless relevance in contemporary contexts. Students will be researching weekly on various objections.
